TLDR: I quit my job to become an artist. Let’s GOOOOOO!!
Okay here’s the scoop: I have enough money in savings to survive five years without an income. Five years of studying art and animation every day is enough to turn me into a pro, so that’s what I’m doing. All I want to do is draw. All my passions are aligned. I have the courage, the focus, and the knowhow to do what it takes, I have the love and support of family and friends, and I have a fallback plan in case I don’t make the cut. Let’s do this!!
This month I’m making a little “about me” animation on Patreon starring me and Lucky. I’ll have it done before Christmas and I’ll post it in January, and EVERYONE who’s a patron in December will have their names put in the thanks at the end of the video! It’s gonna be the front page of my Patreon for a long time probably so if you want your name on it then now’s the time to sign up!

Some cool stuff to expect NOW THAT I'M A FULL TIME ARTIST:
• Animations every month.
• Livestreams (every Mon, Wed, Fri) on Picarto: https://picarto.tv/Animancer
• Livestreams on other days too, randomly.
• Big animation projects, with WIPs and sneak peeks on Patreon.
• Updated Discord (emojis, banners, maybe fancy votes and raffles and stuff too.)
• Commission availability! I’m doing sketches, studies, and animation.
• Fill out a commission form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1swL4JNTftnsBw7JC5dbQjJHeDF9zM5Jpm9mwIgwlLJE/edit
Here’s my long term plan.
1) Self-study the essentials, such as anatomy, layout, draftsmanship, perspective, color, basic cinematography, and the twelve principles of animation.
2) Establish a strong presence as a freelancer to support myself financially. I’ll have Youtube videos, Gumroad merchandise, and a more polished Patreon page.
3) Take professional online art courses at CGMA once I am no longer living off of savings. This will teach me advanced techniques that are more difficult to acquire single handedly.
4a) Build an art portfolio and find work as a full-time artist with the long term goal of being an animation director. Or if that proves too difficult:
4b) Ramp up the freelance. For example I could learn Blender for 3D modeling or just plain find new ways to draw Lucky for a living.
I’m excited! Are you excited? I’m excited!!
