So knew Hae Soo as Wook's Wife's Cousin and person of Wook's household and later maybe thought there were feelings between them but he never knew the depth of their feelings and that they ever had plans to marry. His learning that she had feelings for him deep enough to marry him hurt him and he started to think all the times she had stopped him from hurting Wook was because she still holds those feelings. It was incorrect but he had already jumped to conclusions ugh, him thinking she didn't love him was the only way he would have ever let her go.

So never knew about the romantic relationship between Wook and Soo. So just thought that Wook considered her his dead wife's cousin whom he cared about. He hates Wook the most out of all people so when he found out, his pride must be hurt and the fact that Soo begged for Wook just fuels his anger more.

Soo leaving the palace was major props to her even if outwardly, it looked like the King had thrown her away. Staying in the palace, would’ve caused more misunderstandings to take place because of palace politics so Soo not only protected herself but the love she had for So by leaving first. It’s heartbreaking but next episode confirms this. Soo, Lady Oh and Lady Hae are all similar in the selfless love they had for people and their loved ones where they were willing to walk away if it meant protecting something important.

Having gone through the initial heartbreak of watching this 7 years ago. You can’t help but understand each character even if you disagree with their actions. I agree with Tiana, Soo intervening to save Wook’s life definitely made him reflect on everything and the ost that played between their last conversation confirms that his heart has finally let go of the greed he had for Soo and the throne. It was a bittersweet goodbye but it’s nice to see them end on good terms even if it was long overdue.

Hugs, Tiana🥺 It's heartbreaking how things went south with everyone and, as you said, frustrating that it makes sense. The events and the characters were built up so well that you just can feel that what happened is bound tp happen... Also, Woo Hee's choice was inevitable esp. during their time. As long as there's a royal bloodline alive, her people would never accept the new nation king's decrees no matter how favorable they are to them. They will fight for her and there will be bloodshed. Woo Hee knew she has to end it for the people💔
