Evening Strolls With Yessy

Sometimes I like to switch it up. I have found a new appreciation for lifestyle photos since I purchased and became acquainted with my Sigma 50mm 1.4 DG. The amount of depth and bokeh it brings to my photos is insurmountable. I would say one of the best investments in a long while since my D810 and 24mm 1.4 ED.

When Reed and I were with Jessica, also known as 'lovesquish' on Instagram, she had asked me "Who besides Reed have you worked with time and time again that you would continuously work with no matter what?" I honestly did not have an answer off the top of my head. Sitting here now thinking, I would say Reed, Moon, and Christina Garcia. All brilliant ladies, with just as much beauty as brains and personality. I would definitely add Yessy to the list of people I would work with again, no matter the instance.

Anyways, I returned the question to Jessica and she said "Absolutely Yessy, do you know who she is?" I told her that I had never heard of her, she showed me her Instagram feed and I immediately had to follow her! I loved her look, her feed and frankly everything about her! A week or so later, I saw that she was traveling to Los Angeles and had open booking for collaborations. I immediately messaged her to inquire about working together. This is the result.

We originally wanted to shoot in the Art District of Los Angeles, but timing and the sunlight did not work in our favor. Instead we met at where she was staying and walked around Hollywood near The Grove and shot there. I suppose everything happens for a reason, because I love how these photos came out! We shot a couple different looks, in a range of places on our way to and from The Grove.

We started off in this amazing rainbow-esque sweater shooting most of our photos in just that. With a range of natural light to these beautiful draping lights above this walkway at The Grove. It was so seamless to work with Yessy. She is a TV personality of sorts. She mainly works commercial work for basically every company under the sun; Chevy, Coke, Trojan... the list goes on and on. Working with someone who mainly does film or video work is extremely easy. They know how to pose even when moving around and thats why it was so seamless to work with Yessy. Almost every photo we shot was amazing! Sadly, I cannot edit every one! So I had to pick my favorites. Enjoy!
