Chapter Ten (0.10.0) Update #1

Here we go! Work on Chapter Ten has started. Or, rather, it started a couple days ago and we're now formally announcing it.

While Chapter Ten is a bit of a "take a well-deserved breath of fresh air" kind of episode, there are some threads being woven into it for the events that play out in Chapter Eleven. So, expect that there'll be a big choice here, with a large personal moment, but for the most part, this chapter is about a little downtime and setting the stage for the future.

From a more technical standpoint, we are adding a Stats screen to the game, available from the in-game menu at the bottom of the screen. This'll let you know where you stand with the other characters in the game.

Thanks for your support.

When I play RPGs I like to fill all the gauges evenly. :)

Those are some very even lines.

Sounds about right.

Oh, you probably saw the "testing" screen with a bunch of stuff on there (like the number of times you hit the infected at the end of CH8) that I use to check variables during a build. Really ugly looking. This is just a more polished version that's viewable from any screen in the game.

Awesome update, glad you'll have a stat tracker in there now. I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to do that, especially now that we might have to try to juggle/balance stats with Naomi and Carol (and any other mystery characters who might take up residence with the clan.) In fact, I thought I saw that tracker in another image you posted somewhere but couldn't figure out how to access it before.

Ahh okay. I was thinking along those lines. Actually playing two different games of Now and Then and one of them I got a freak out from Naomi.

Phil Hatch II

Its a measure of their nervousness about the world around them. Depending on how high it is, they might react badly to a situation. For example, in Chapter 8, if Naomi's nerve stat was high, she would freak out at the news of infected outside the apartment. I use Nerve and Trust as a way to give the girls weighted reactions to certain events.

ILSProductions

Nice. Curious what the “nerve” stat is for?
