Chapter Nineteen (0.19.0) Update #2

And we're (roughly) at the mid-way point in this update. If things keep going along at this pace, we should be hitting the rough release date with relative ease. For the most part, the writing is pretty much done. The plot is locked down tight. There's one more scene to actually get onto "paper", and most of the rest is re-writes, edits, and continuity. Probably a few run-throughs to make sure the chapter's arc runs smoothly.

One thing added to this update is a Stat Definition screen to the main game. I was getting feedback from players who wanted to know what some of the stats meant and hadn't read through a year's worth of previous posts. I can understand why you wouldn't; most updates are like the Taco Bell menu: a re-assembling of the same ingredients/comments in varying orders and quantities.

Below is a the rough of the page (will probably have one or two last second copy tweaks).

Thanks for your support and your interest,
- Kinderfeld

[Edit 2021-08-15] I started playing again and it seems like the Nerve stat increases when a character becomes less secure, less stable, more nervous, more worried. That would mean higher Nerve is "bad" and lower nerve is "good". Is that correct? It seems unintuitive. [End of edit] I remember being confused about the Nerve stat last time I played because the value changed in the opposite direction of what I expected based on a dialog choice I made. Taking definitions from Webster for example, does the Nerve stat mean "power of endurance or control", "fortitude, strength, assurance, boldness"? Or inversely does it mean "a sore or sensitive point", "nervous agitation or irritability : nervousness", as in "a case of nerves"? In other words, does a higher Nerve value mean a character is mentally stronger and more resilient? Or does a higher value indicate a character is more nervous, insecure, and likely to panic?

Most stats are pretty straightforward, the only one I misunderstood was "nerve". I thought a plus in nerve ment that it improved the nerves, like in "you have pretty strong nerves." It might be a language barrier thing, but wouldn't be "panice" a more suitable stat name? But then again, you would have to change soo much stuff, so I can understand if you keep it the same.
