Star Trek: Continues Episode 9 - "What Ships are For" - Full Reaction

Comments

William Shatner wrote a series of Star Trek books that are as un cannon as you can get. In one of them, he encounters the species that spread humanity all over the stars and preserved species that were facing extinction. When he tried to explain the Prime Directive to them, they got angry. "How dare you not interfere! James T. Kirk, that is why we created you." In that book, Kirk was every bit as much engineered as Khan, just by aliens who were better at the job than humans were.

I don't know if books count for spoilers. If yes, please ignore the reply to this post. If not, I think it might have value.

Great story! I also had the pleasure to hear him speak at a con circa 1994. This being my first one, I WOEFULLY underestimated how expensive things would be and didn't have money to buy a photo for a photograph. Lesson learned -- any future con I attended I brought double the planned money, LOL.

I think this is another classic Trek episode. I have a better name, "Kicking some Hyleni". Funny, De Lancie, who I met in 2019 in Vegas, looked younger than this installment of STC. I was getting his autograph for my daughter - she loved his NextGen stuff but mostly his My Little pony voice work (Don't ask I have no Idea... really) He saw me examine the photos. I was trying to decide which my daughter would like the best. He came around and pulled me aside and told me the whole story about the photo I was opting for. Great story about how he'd been awake for 36 hours and just arrived in Germany on a flight. They dragged him right over to a photo shoot. He thought, "This will turn out to be crap! I'm sooo tired." But the photos turned out great to his surprise. I was a bit taken aback he was so personable to me. "Please sign 'to Amanda'.", I said and thanked him.
