Wrestlemania 3 Reaction

Comments

Hi Bunny! Just joined your Patreon, so excited to watch these amazing exclusive videos! Wrestlemania 3 is probably the most legendary Wrestlemania of all time, I have watched it so many times and it’s gonna be so great to see your reaction to it!

Yello909

thanks for explaining the rule

Bunny Girl

That 93, 173 figure has already been disputed. The actual figure was speculated to be around 78, 000. Still, it did hold the attendance record for a pro-wrestling event, at least until Summerslam '92.

Watchin' it in CHRONOLOGICAL ORDER. The Real Deal Some notes: - At the time faces were good because of their reasons, not because of their acton: Steamboat winning with outside help was a completely babyface move since Savage has been so disrespectful to him previously, and also used a lot of dirty tactics in the match itself. So it was appreciated to make a heel eat his own medicine (I still appreciate it, tbh); - In these matches, they actually didn't make any dangerous move to the head: every blow they executed was safe and they're still allowed today (although they look different because wrestling style has changed); what isn't allowed today are moves that involve a sure risk without any way to control it (diving from the top rope to fall on the head, chair shots or in general object shots to the head, slams that make the opponent fall on their head). There are some exceptions for moves that look like damaging the head but they actually don't if done in a certain way, like the Tombstone Piledriver, Canadian Destroyer and Inverted Hurricanrana. Only the Burning Hammer, for some reason, is a riskful move that's still executed.

You should definitely check out Roddy Piper vs. Adrian Adonis from this show. Really fun match.

Hard to believe this was 37 years ago. WrestleMania 3 took place on March. 29th, 1987. Infront of 93,123 in the Pontiac Silverdome, at the time was the one of the largest attendance records for a wrestling event at the time. :) This match went down and still is one of the best intercontinental championship matches of all time, and there have been many over the past 40 years :) Fun Fact. Back in the 70's 80's and early 90s, No matter where u wrestled in, there was a rule where if you threw someone or knock someone over the top rope, it would result in a disqualification :o. So unless, it was a no DQ match or a battle royal, Royal Rumble, over the top rope tossing wasn't allowed. Vince by around 1992 had removed that rule. However WCW had that rule until about late 1997.

AndrewM

I have only seen highlights of this match previously.

please react to The Rock vs Hogan at Wrestlemania one of the hottest crowds in the history of the buisness

I assume that Wrestlemania 5 will contain Hogan and Machos promos on each other. Otherwise look them up on youtube, they're amazing and really tell the story about how Macho feels like Hogan has ruined his title run by being egotistical and trying to steal Macho Man's chance to be the face of the company and make it all about Hogan. And he feels like Hogan is trying to steal Elizabeth too.

.

Andre was very physically unwell at this time due to his wear and tear, weight gain, and most importantly his giantism disorder. He used to be a legit great wrestler in spite of his size. It's honestly impressive that he even managed to have a match knowing how poorly he was feeling at this time. :(

.

Andre was always a babyface in America (I believe he had worked heel a ton in Japan) but also the fact Andre was always against Bobby Heenan, and now he had joined Heenan is what was also a major sell of the match.

Headbut allowed. Hitting the head with a chair is not allowed, that's all.

Hogan was the WWF star of the 80. He hold the record of be the third longest champion in WWE history with 1472 days, more than Roman right now.

I wish you would watch the entire show on peacock

Macho man hit Ricky with the ring bell and won by count out in their prior match and he was trying to repeat it in this match. Also Macho was a heel during this time that is why the crowd cheered so loudly for Ricky

Click the top link not the one at the bottom. I had the same issue

Bunny, being born in 1991, I have the unique and uncanny ability to see the spectrum from both sides. I recognize the 1980s audience's reaction to a quick, unexpected finish, but also see how that could fall flat to today's era. It's all about perspective. Maybe what we perceive is cool today, might seem lame for tomorrow's fans. Just keep an open mind. 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶

I'm sensing Bunny is not really liking the Hulkster but is liking the Macho Man oh yeah dig it! Was funny seeing her reaction to Hogan and Savage steroid and cocaine fuelled interviews LOL. Keep an eye out for Donald Trump in the front row at WrestleMania 5.

nWo 4 Life

Lol Ricky was the good guy and Savage was the one who tried to cheat with the bell Bunny . Also headshots with weapons isn’t allowed normal moves to the head are completely fine

Devon Sterling

You're seeing why the Hulkster is the greatest of all time!

David Crabtree

Please react to Ric flair vs Macho Man Wrestlemania 8. It was a great match with a great story. Ric flair lied and said he used to date Elizabeth before Macho Man and would call her Damaged Goods. He even made fake photos of him and Elizabeth together

WellRoundedLeo

Andre The Giant used to wrestle as Monster Roussimoff in the IWE back in the early 70s. Most people did not know but he was very quick, nimble and agile for a guy of his size and could throw dropkicks, big splashes and hip drops. For reference, this was Hogan vs. Andre 7 years prior at Showdown at Shea Stadium on Aug 9, 1980. This was how Andre used to move, and wrestle: https://www.facebook.com/Davenportsportsnetwork/videos/on-august-9-1980-wwfs-4th-and-final-showdown-at-shea-took-place-in-front-of-3629/864404487858607/

Love watching these reactions. Hogan Savage from Wrestlemania 5 and Hogan vs Ultimate Warrior from Wrestlemania 6 should be really fun. Just a quick note on Ricky Steamboat, he worked with Steve Austin a lot when Austin was young and still had his hair. Austin gives Steamboat a lot of credit for helping him become a real professional.

Daniel Heffron

Andre had just had back surgery and could hardly move. Had to wear a back brace. Plus he was slowly dying of the gigantism disease. Hogan had to work a match around Andre limitations. Andre knew his days were numbered but wanted to make Hogan a bigger star to take business to new heights. Hogan didn't know if Andre would lose during match because Andre was temperamental but he was just ribbing Hogan. Short 4 minute video on HBO's Andre the Giant doc on backstory of the match if interested. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT9lgjwFfpk

nWo 4 Life

This hurts to see the greatest attraction in pro wrestling Andre. At this point he could barely hold or lift anything. Of all his opponents Hulk made Andre still look like a monster. Andre said later before he passed he liked being a bad guy, but he would love to have been cheered at ending of his career. I love Andre he is my favorite, and truly in my eyes the greatest attraction wrestling has ever seen. great video bunny.

Jesse Lopez

That was all heel comeuppance Macho Man deserved to lose, he knocked out the ref intentionally so he only has himself to blame for why the ref wasn't there to count the pin after his elbow drop. Also, I'm sorry about whoever gave you the misconception but punches to the head aren't banned in the modern day or anything, just unprotected weapon shots to the head. You know, like chairs and stuff. P.S. Fun Fact: Hogan was not the first man to slam Andre, multiple others have before, actually even more than I thought.

DustyVita

such great classic mania matches that will live forever :) awesome reaction buns :)

When are you going to react to Cody Rhodes and his promo? https://youtu.be/vAClvcEj76Y?si=1Zad-2krGw8X8Pw4

Thanks. Been waiting for your reaction to Steamboat vs Savage. Steamboat is without a doubt the smoothest in-ring performer I've ever seen, as evident from his movement to execution (especially his arm-drags). I've recently watched the WWE Legends Documentary that featured Randy Orton, and there was a fragment of the documentary where he mentioned that as a rookie, he watched tapes of Steamboat perform in order to emulate that smooth, effortless gliding in the ring. Edit: Several wrestlers slammed Andre The Giant before WrestleMania III. The list includes the likes of Doug Gilbert, Strong Kobayashi from Japan, Harley Race, Antonio Inoki who was the founder and president of NJPW and even Hulk Hogan in the early 80s: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XstgeCHPhdo
