Peter wanted him to run, his look at the end is because everything Peter said in his statement was true - that Neil deserves to be free and have his sentence commuted, but Peter knows Neil now has to run and not be free. Neil has only been charged for one of the countless things he has done (and the prison escape), and it is only his current sentence that might be commuted. Anything else he has ever done can be used by Kramer as long as it's not past any limitations.

That’s why Peter told him to run with that look. Peter had to keep up appearances in his testimony and act shocked when they found out he ran.

2022-12-12 22:55:49 +0000 UTCOne of my favorite episodes/finales. Jones’s testimony did shock me but he’s kinda right. Neal finishing the rest of his sentence in the way he’d already been doing isn’t a bad deal at all. I loved the way everyone else tried to help him though.
