I have always loved Lucas and yes, it is THRILLING to see him this way. He's always been a sort-of Hamlet figure... paralyzed by indecision, grief and overwhelming feelings (I can relate) and I don't know, it's really great because it feels like the culmination of all of that has come to a head.

2022-12-24 17:44:29 +0000 UTCI've always admired how this show handled Jimmy and the school shooting plotline. Jimmy wasn't a bad person, he wasn't evil, and he didn't intend to harm his former friends. He was a scared teenager who had spent the previous two years of his life being broken down and beaten up on a daily basis. He simply wanted to scare his bullies and chose the most counterproductive method. I believe many of those students understood because they witnessed it; maybe even felt it themselves. It was incredible to see the students empathize with Jimmy's mother and even Jimmy himself. We began this series with Jimmy, and while things did not end well for him, I am glad they gave him and the students some closure as we near the end of their high school years.

2022-12-22 12:37:38 +0000 UTCLucas was great in this, Lucas is in the lower end of characters I like in this show, but I don't dislike him, I think he as a lot of great stuff in the show, I just don't really like the love triangle stuff, which is what his character is wrapped up in a lot. I like Chase, I think he has some good funny back and forth with Brooke sometimes, but I don't really care much about their relationship, I just don't feel like it was developed all that well, but again I do like Chase, he's fine. I think Nathan made the right choice, not just for integrity or character growth, but because we don't actually know what they knew about his point shaving, we don't know how long they were watching Dante and what they saw or new about. So I think it's better just to face it now, rather then it potentially pop up later at a much worse time in his life, where he wouldn't have the time, which he has now, since he's young and hasn't even finished high school yet, to fix his life. Plus as we know from watching the news people love to dig things up from people's past, especially if their successful to take them down, now they can't do that with Nathan because it's all out there.

It was necessary for him to not have the perfect plan to con Dan bc a) Dan has been manipulating way longer and better than Lucas and b) Lucas is still processing. I mean, his father figure was murdered by his actual Dad and he misplaced his anger on a former friend of his that comitted suicide. That's a lot to take in.

2022-12-22 10:53:57 +0000 UTCCan't agree more. They made love triangles Lucas' entire personality and it sucked. The love triangles got repetitive after a while. Whenever he gets an arc that's got nothing to do with that, it gets pretty good.

When he’s not written in a triangle or in some big love complication I feel he’s written pretty great. Early season 1 he was rootable. In season 2 it was great seeing him not be in a triangle and minus the first few episodes of this season, season 4 has been terrific for Lucas Scott.
