Yeah, you're right about the being written by a man thing. I'd hope though that if that scene was actually put out there today, they'd be called out on it.

2023-07-22 08:57:45 +0000 UTCI don't think this being 2000 is why it was called a 'seduction'. ;D it's just what happens when a situation like this is being written by a man who will use any opportunity he can to sexualise the sisters for views. They wanted to show Phoebe not only in her underwear, but giving a visual of her enjoying something of sexual nature. I also think there's a possibility in those moments she just relived the experience with the same feelings her past life self did, just like she did after casting the spell, so since her past self enjoyed it, so did Phoebe. Almost like posession

I don't know why they didn't and can only assume it's because it was 2000 and they didn't know any better?? I was SO proud of Phoebe for becoming such a hardworking student and then SUPER creeped out that they made her make that face during her assault like she enjoyed it. There was an invisble force strangling her and ASSAULTING her. No one would think "oohh yeah that's the stuff!" They'd be panicked as all hell. There's not even a physical body you could fight off! Phoebe: *getting tossed around in class while being choked* Steven: *sarcastic deadpan* You know, just intimate... π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£ I LOVE Piper. She's my favourite, my comfort character in Charmed. But I kind of blame her in the Leo/Dan situation. Leo isn't doing anything but be there, at her invitation no less, and sticks around more sometimes to unofficially be their Whitelighter. He also can't help just being in love with Piper when it's so obvious she still feels the same for him. I can't blame Dan, either, because his jealousy comes at a very mild range and he does get annoyed but he never gets macho man jealous and tells Piper to not see Leo anymore. Dan ISN'T a bad guy. But I think it's safe to say that, at this point in time, Dan doesn't seem like a right fit for Piper. He's too normal and while she craves that, she isn't normal. Piper needs to let go of Dan and move on cuz we all see she's not over Leo. It's a past life, Steven, as in the person she was before she reincarnated and was reborn as Phoebe Halliwell. She didn't remember cuz none of it happened to her in THIS life. Also, I was NOT a fan of the Phoebe and Anton kissing scenes. Was it just me? I can literally see tongue...my aroace eyes burned... I really love that "souls recognizing each other" explanation by Leo, too. This show has great lore, actually. "I'm hoping Piper learns from her past mistakes" ππππππ that was SICK, Leo! Past Piper and Prue were kinda badass!! I'd NEVER take that amulet off if I'm Phoebe! Dan's not the right guy for Piper but he is very sweet. Even in this episode, it's not jealousy that's got him upset. It's the feeling that Leo was lying about his past and finding out that Leo might be a fraud and could potentially be a threat to Piper that's got him agitated. He's a good guy. I feel bad for him.
