I agree 💯 that it's bad writing for Millie. I was so angry the first time I watched it and now it's the scenes I skip. Sorry I rated this episode so low but Millie's storyline with Owen is the reason why. Everything else was solid. Q with the cape made me CRY. Jamie is adorable as always. The Brooke and Sam and Q's killer storyline had me on the edge of my seat the first time. But Millie...I totally agree that they want us to hate Millie. Instead of having Mouth, the "nice guy", take accountability for his actions and apologise and make it right, they turned Millie into the so called "villain" so that whatever happens, Mouth would be in the right. He'd be justified because he never cheated technically. She did. It's horrendous and I hate it.

And he shouldn't have let gg sleep in millies bed, that was way over The line and probably was what made millie react so strongly with The picture.

2023-08-10 16:28:26 +0000 UTCAs for Owen. An alcoholic will FIND reasons to drink if they want to, no matter how small. It's not something that's triggered by just Brooke alone. Working in a bar around alcohol as an alcoholic is dumb AF, so the temptation has been there consistently. No matter how sober a person is for how long, that environment is not smart. So yeah, I'd say he's probably been tempted for a while and using Brooke as an excuse.

If she's been holding out to make it special with Mouth etc. and he's cheating, she's like heartbroken and now she wants to hurt him too. I don't think it's good writing, and it's not something I would personally do, BUT it's realistic in the sense of everyone is capable of dumb shit when hurt. Millie probably isn't even thinking about Brooke and Owen at this point. She's thinking about hurting Mouth.

2023-08-10 11:11:02 +0000 UTCYou hit the nail in the head with Mouth. It was that moment of hesitation while he took a better look at that pic instead of deleting it. He is a moron but doesn't deserves what happened. Millie doesn't either but I believe her insecurities made her more irrational than she would have been if her and Mouth would have communicated better. I don't hate Millie, i quite enjoy her character. What I do hate (and this comes from past reactions and other comments) is that most of the fandom, punishes Mouth for this hesitation and let's face it, indecision (I believe he was conflicted and did not know how to handle 2 girls interested in him at the same time - no one ever taught him how to handle this), while absolving Millie of any responsibility, including sleeping with Owen - I am not going to call it cheating because she might have thought they were broken up by this point. Only two reactors so far I enjoy that they saw blame in both for the lack of communication, the flirting on his part and the sleeping with Owen on her part, and I am glad Steven is one of them.

2023-08-10 08:31:25 +0000 UTCI loved this episode, except for the part with Millie, I feel like they could have made that storyline work better, all they had to do was have Owen fall off the wagon first, then Millie shows up and starts drinking and they end up making a bitter, drunken mistake, I still don't think I would have liked it. But it would have worked better than her showing up and just deciding to sleep with Owen, without actually knowing Mouth cheated and completely sober. I could defend Mouth for not deleting that picture immediately, because Millie showed up and he didn't quite have time to delete it, but she didn't find it til later, I feel like he must have had some brief moment between the recital and home where he could have deleted the picture. As for Peyton, I don't know, assuming the worst when you have a medical fear, is pretty common for a lot of people all over the world, It's pretty common even for the people who have had the best life and all the best experiences, let alone someone like Peyton who has had both mom's die, one of them from cancer, thought her dad had died, was kidnapped by her stalker, had depression, addiction, just to name a few things. She has had a lot of things work out not so well in her life, so assuming the worst and lashing out from stress and fear isn't that unbelievable. Also, I don't know if she's entirely wrong about Mia, I mean telling her the label's not for her anymore, that's entirely an overreaction, but everything else, I mean it's been months since she was supposed to have new music and hasn't even written one song yet, I feel like, labels, managers, producers, would all have an issue with that.

Hilarie Burton guest-starred on Dawson's Creek as herself (she was a big name MTV TRL VJ before OTH). It was her very first experience on a show. So this is kind of a reunion of sorts.
