Oh I remember not liking this episode at all when I was younger. And I still don’t😂. I remember there would be marathons of degrassi and I would just skip these episodes. I agree the writing for the adults is kinda meh.

I honestly never care about the parents on the show; they barely get plots anyways. The Emma/Sean thing is always a mess lol. Kids dating for a month is a long time. I'm pretty sure they dated longer than this. The Manny/Craig thing is a bit weird but i don't think much of it. Maybe they did film it out of order lol.

2023-08-21 07:40:58 +0000 UTCNot excusing this episode because it’s rough but there are a few things. One, Manny and Craig dancing at a wedding together isn’t weird she’s Emma’s best friend and he’s Snake’s best man’s step son, there’s not many children there besides the friends Emma invited everyone else is adults. So they could just be dancing. Two, Spike said that she does Connie’s (mrs. Fancy / stripper) hair. So it’s normal for her not to have met Spikes husband. When she’s introduced to Snake at the wedding Spike says his name is Archie and Connie showed up at Joeys house to dance for Snakes stag so she didn’t know they were the same person so she’s not a horrible friend of even a close friend she’s just a friend of the bride. Three, yes Shawn and Emma broke up because he fought Jimmy and accidentally pushed her down, I believe the time frame of them dating the previous school year was a few months which definitely doesn’t qualify as briefly in 7th / 8th grade terms. Four, adults are not the point of this show so you will rarely get a story line so focused on them that doesn’t bring the children into the drama. That’s why we didn’t see Spike and Snakes relationship because it was kept in the background. Lastly, Spike got pregnant with Emma during Degrassi high and we see Emma’s dad on that show but no we haven’t met him on next generation, this is a plot point so I won’t tell you to much but we do get more on Emma’s dad in a later episode.

2023-08-21 01:28:52 +0000 UTCOh gosh, this episode is a lot worse than I remember it lol I think Spike, in general, is very dramatic, but I also don't understand why Emma felt the need to tell Snake in the middle of the night. I get that she was worried that her mom never would have, but Spike just found out THAT DAY. Which is why Snake freaking out irks me. Like, how are you that mad about this. She took the test less than 24 hours ago like let her sit with this! Manny inviting Sean was ultimately harmless this episode. Manny is a bit of a hopeless romantic still. Sean and Emma were cute together in Season 1, (you know, until he pushed her to the ground) so I didn't mind them getting back together but I wish they left more seeds for it in the season. The last we saw them interact was when he prank called her in the Drive episode.
