What he was saying was that he didn't want her to know was that her mom's last moments were spent trying to kill someone her daughter loved. That she got bit because she was doing something bad. I don't think she blames her dad at all, she knows that her mother choosing suicide instead of turning was her choice. You didn't miss anything about the sacrifices, we are really at the beginning of that storyline. The sacrifices and the alpha pack all weaves together in an awesome way and Lydia always being the one to find the dead bodies does have meaning.
