Completely agree I'd rather they not do the whole Lucas/Peyton thing. Jamie is adorable and I love his relationships with Skillz and Brooke.

2023-10-12 19:08:36 +0000 UTCTOTALLY agree on the whole "treating them like they're much older" vibe. There are especially some storylines coming that I'm like....dude, they're like, what, 22??? It's like they wanted to age the characters 10 years but they also wanted cute kid Jamie at this age so they had no choice. It's a weird choice at times but I try to look past it. It gets hard sometimes, especially later lol.

2023-01-20 01:00:14 +0000 UTCFunny story, I *DID* have a young teacher who was freshly graduated. Like Haley, she ALSO ran out crying on the first day cuz, y'know, teenage boys. I kinda felt bad for her. You could see that she had so much expectations of what being a teacher would be like. Probably wanted to change lives and mould young minds...she slowly lost all hope throughout the school year. It was interesting and super sad to watch. The kid actor who plays Jamie is VERY cute. I always thought that Naley, Jamie and Brooke were the best parts of this era of the show. The whole Luke in a love triangle with Peyton as one of the options thing is BEYOND repetitive. I got tired of it in season 2. Yet here we are, with Luke and Peyton in SECOND triangle with another woman involved. I've never been happier that Brooke got over Luke and moved on with her life because he didn't deserve Brooke Davis. I won't spoil anything in the Lucas and Peyton saga of this season but I WILL say that I'm not on Lukeβs side and Peyton deserves better than him, too. Unfortunately, these two would make everyone else miserable...as we've seen with Brooke before.

2023-01-20 01:00:00 +0000 UTChi, former teacher here. yes you can teach right when you graduate from college. so if you start college at 18, you can have your degree and be teaching by 21/22. i actually think of the main cast, haley becoming a teacher is the most realistic career path of the bunch. especially since she was tutor girl in high school. it's not that shocking that someone who tutored high school students while in school herself would then grow up to be a high school teacher.

2023-01-19 10:20:20 +0000 UTCI had a teacher in high school that was 24, that was the only teacher I had that young, every other teacher I've had is usually in the 30's to 50's. I'm not really that interested in Peyton and Lucas relationship, Lucas is in the low end of characters I like and Peyton is in the low medium of characters I like mainly because of their relationship, but the show established from the pilot episode that their the couple they want. I just wish they would stop repeating the same storylines with them, I know shows had this idea that they can't put their main couples together because they will lose all their ratings, sometimes that's true, but not always and they have so many characters on this show, I don't think that would have happened here. So, I wish they would just keep them together, because the breaking up, getting back together, rinse, repeat, of it all is annoying. Plus when their not together they just tend to hurt other people.

2023-01-19 09:13:35 +0000 UTCHaley was always an old soul, even in high school. She was more mature than her parents. As far as the rest, they already led really accelerated lives in high school: getting married, having a baby, going on a rock tour, starting a clothing line, writing a book, preparing for the nba, promoting an all ages club, making a benefit album. They were doing things at 17 that most start after college. They are basically still doing the things they started then just at an even more advanced level. They seem older than typical 21 yr olds because they weren't typical 17 yr olds. Haley being a teacher at 21 is probably the most normal thing on the show lol.

The use of Lucas being with someone else once again to create drama with them is so repetitive.

I see what you mean when you say they feel older then they are. I think it feels that way especially for Haley because of her being a teacher and a mother. Which probably expects her to grow up faster because of that. Plus sometimes the way she dresses seems older too idk lol. I mean some 21/22 year olds can be more mature then others i guess it depends on the person.
