Yeah, that's the issue. The episode just kind of ends abruptly leaving all the story threads hanging. It's definitely better viewed as a two part episode with the next one. It does leave first time viewers confused sometimes.

2023-02-15 20:43:07 +0000 UTCThis and the next episode are basically a two-parter. And a really great two-parter at that. Both this and the next one are fantastic. Such great acting by all involved but especially Amy Acker and Alexis Denisof as Fred and Wesley. They just crush their scenes. And then at the end Fred utters the 4 most devastating words in the Buffy-verse for me, “Why can’t I stay?” Right before taking her last breath. Amazingly written and acted. Random trivia, the song that Eve sings for Lorne is the same one that Lindsay sings at the karaoke bar in season 2. And original song written by the actor that plays Lindsay and Joss Whedon. I love the little Easter egg that in this world Lindsay wrote it and sang it for Eve and now she’s singing it for Lorne just like Lindsay did 3 years prior.

2023-02-15 05:43:00 +0000 UTCRemember they knew the show was ending by this point...it was cancelled by surpise too...i remember when i heard the WB cancelled the show...only a few episodes left of the whole series...this was a great episode and very emotional.

This to me has always felt like a two part episode with the next one so I do wish you would watch them back-to-back, but I know you're busy with other things lol. But yeah, everything you're thinking is pretty much the way we all react to this.
