2023-03-12 05:57:12 +0000 UTCI don't think there was necessarily anything inherently wrong with how Wendy was acting, she was just excited to be in a relationship and enjoying fantasising about what their future together could be. However, I also don't think Cory was wrong to be freaked out by it. They're 13 and he just wanted to go to that party with Wendy, and then just kinda be with her for a bit and see how it went. He liked her, but he was nowhere near ready to be thinking about the future like that. I think it was innocent on Wendy's part, she didn't do anything wrong. But it was way too fast for Cory, he was suddenly in a relationship with a girl who was talking about marriage and kids and I think it's okay for him to be freaked out by that. I feel like he just felt like she'd already planned out his entire life for him, and he just wanted to go with the flow and not feel so much pressure. Wendy immediately got serious, and Cory just kinda wanted to have fun. I also don't necessarily think Shawn was wrong in saying you should date different people. I've never dated anyone and I'm 20 (AroAce) but I do feel like if you're interested in dating at that age, it's probably good to not close off all your options the second you've got a gf/bf. That's not to say you should hurt people in doing so (don't cheat!) or that everyone should do that. If you're not interested in dating around and you meet someone you really like, then let it happen how it's supposed to. I just think that if you let your first relationship get really serious too quickly, it can just cause a lot of damage. (Happened with my brother, I won't go into any details, but his first relationship got way too serious way too quickly and things are a bit of a mess right now... That's more on him than his gf though...)
