The villain was just ehh but the development in the Halliwell family, some insights into their backstory...that made this episode a standout for me. Loved seeing Grams and Mom.

I agree with everyone else that S2 is the step up, some of things you're wanting are in these later seasons.

I love getting so much background in this episode. For example, we find out how far back Andy's friendship with the family is. We get to see the girls had their powers and why they forgot them. I also love grams and the mom here. Yeah, the villain sucks and the special effect aren't great. I give it a pass because of how old this show was and that it had a TV show budget. They had to get creative. Anyway, this is one of the best episodes of season one imo...if not the best. I'm just not a huge season one fan overall. I'm looking forward to getting into season two, which is a step up even if it's not peak Charmed.

One of the best episodes of season 1. Yes, the villains of this season are not the best, to put it gently. I can't help but laugh at the special effects in this one, BUT... This one is all about family, and their history, we finally found out why their magic was kept a secret and why they only got their powers now. Plus, time travel) What's not to love?

For me, this is one of the best episodes of the series. I adore everything about it. I also really like the actress who plays their mother, Finola Hughes (GH fan here!), so that could be a factor. 💕

I just realised how obvious the sisters were acting...so emotional, and then in the end saying "I'm gonna miss you"...I mean they revealed that grams would die, but not the mom, so wouldn't they assume when the sisters go back to the future mom is still there, just older? 😂 so what is there to miss if she's alive in their timeline?

I've always loved the actress choice for the mom :D nice to see you appreciated her and grams. Grown up Prue and little Prue calling eachother pretty, and then Piper rolling her eyes "oh gimme a break" always cracks me up. xD Prepare to be disappointed by the villains for the rest of the season, they're really not the main focus and don't get better for quite a while.
