If you’re following the actual timeline, when you’re done with season 3, you have to watch all of season 8 of TVD before you start season 4 of The Originals. You can continue to go back and forth but please do not start season 5 of The Originals before you finish TVD, there’s a huge spoiler said in the first episode.
