I mean its a type of humor. A little bit darker more life-like then most comedies. It has a meaning to the punchline and not everyone looks for that. I can't watch Modern Family and BBT, even Friends is sometimes is hard for me because its just jokes for the sake of jokes. Maybe give it a try after a few years, that usually helps me with these shows? But if you won't like it thats fine as well 😊

2023-04-24 13:06:28 +0000 UTCMuch like those other sitcoms, this takes a season-ish to figure out what it is and then it becomes...not just jokes per minute funny like Arrested or 30 Rock but its own thing that's kind of a cross between Parks and Rick and Morty? They play a lot with genre and homages. If this makes sense, the creator Dan Harmon, LOVED the X-files episodes called X-COPS, where they shoot an X-file in the style of the TV show COPS. This show demonstrates similar concepts with a very high comedy bar.

2023-04-24 04:50:06 +0000 UTCyes!! to those that might not know, it's not really called that anymore because of the history of the person it's named after (makes my skin crawl thinking about that tbh) but there are some people who spent their whole lives diagnosed with it being called that, and that's what they default to. today, it's called "autism spectrum disorder" and it's more understood as there aren't "high functioning" and "low functioning" but rather levels of support vs function. it makes sense because you don't really know just how "functioning" a person is honestly. i've heard someone describe it as "i'm 'high functioning' by outward appearances because i go to work and hold down a job and seem successful and sociable. but when i come home from work or outings, i completely fall apart. it's just no one sees that side."

2023-04-24 04:36:43 +0000 UTCi've tried to get into community for a long time. i've heard nothing but good things. but every time i just can't get past the first episode and idk why. but i was also the same way with the office and parks for awhile before giving them a fair shot and absolutely ending up loving them so maybe this is my sign to give community another try. to me it just has the same....flavor? of arrested development and i just couldn't get into that one either. but i'll give it another try and see. it's one that i sincerly do want to like, based on what i've heard others say.
