Great to see you still enjoying this show. I personally hated the ending of this episode. It makes sense for Matt, but not for Alaric. I get that a father will protect his kids, that's above everything, but killing his best friend? It's not Damons fault the siren controlled him to do all those things, it wasn't like one of those times he randomly switched off his humanity and went on a rampage. This time it wasn't his choice, plus he saved the daughters. So Alaric just thinks he can kill Damon, Stephens brother, Bonnie's and his own best friend, Elenas love of her life just like that? It's convenient as we know Damon is coming back to life, but it just seems extreme and out of character. He's gonna go away with the girls anyway, so once he leaves Caroline behind, same can be done for Damon. He should've taken his anger out at siren, it's her fault.
