I feel so bad for Anne. She doesn't know not to talk about the stuff she's been told about and seen. She been through a lot. I've been there. It's hard when sharing about your life as a kid is "too much" or "inappropriate ". She can't help her experiences and wasn't really taught how to be in society. I love how Matthew realized that. She's his daughter and he loves her just as she is. This show is really good representation for kids who have been in the child welfare system or through other trauma and who don't know how to be "normal".

This show doesn't follow the story as faithfully as the movie and adds a lot but it's still so good and definitely in the spirit of Anne. I hope you react to the whole series and maybe to the (good) movies. The Megan Follows movies have such a beautiful score and cinematography and acting and it's all filmed beautifully in PEI. I've always wanted to go.

2023-05-10 08:54:46 +0000 UTCAlthough the first two episodes are amazing introductions, for me this is definitely the best episode that you have seen so far, this is really when the story begins and the show becomes incredible. The one who is being targeted by the pedo teacher is Prissy, she is Billy and Janes sister who is a bit older. Ruby is the one who has had a crush on Gilbert for years and called dibs lmao. A detail I loved is when Marilla blamed Anne at first for what she said to the girls, and then Matthew made her realize that it wasn't her fault, she is just a child and was exposed to all these awful things, it made me so happy that Marilla listened to Matthew, changed her mind and stood up to the "progressive" mothers. Also, yes Gilbert is awesome and he really just wanted to make Anne talk to him and get her attention, he even admitted it was his fault but unfortunately, the asshole teacher completely dismissed him and punished Anne instead :(
