Why No High School Shows on Glee Replacement Poll?

Honestly I would just want to see you react to the first 3 seasons of glee since the last three are so bad to end on more of a high note and then get into another high school show

yeah like i'd wouldn't pick criminal minds to replace glee for example but if this is CM's chance on a poll then yeah, i'll have to pick it because i want to see it done. same with bones. i think there needed to be more separation in the polls. like of course the older audience is going to want to pick a show like criminal minds but is that the best replacement show for the audience who is here for glee? that's where i get concerned. like i said, you probably wouldn't want to replace "walking dead" with a disney or nick show, but maybe that's just my thought process. either way, these are good shows and i'll be excited for what gets done.

Yes! I think this is because they were competing with other extremely popular shows for adults. If you had only put those shows on the poll, stating that you were specifically looking for a teen show to replace Glee, it would be more clear what is popular among the genre and no doubt more suggestions would have come from the comments. It's just teen shows aren't many people's first choice, because a lot of us are no longer teens, which is why separating by genre when you're doing polls might be best practice!

I suggested Instant Star. Life Unexpected and Anne with an E are also a good ones. Felicity is College not high school but still young adult drama. I'm ok with a different type of show though.

i love greek. and agree a musical show would be a good replacement (voted for those in the first poll, along with heartstopper and a couple other teen shows. after re-watching the pilot, i also think ugly betty has a similar tone to the parts of glee i watched (the first 2-3 seasons), even though the setting/context is different and it's not a musical.

Heartstopper is a high school show. And honestly I thought you would enjoy the hell out of both That's So Raven and Drake & Josh but since some people might find them "kid shows", was gonna bring it up when you're done with Wizards and Victorious...I mean, they should DEFINITELY be the 2 shows to replace these 2...but, yeah, Heartstopper please...and season 2 in Aug as well 🫣🤞🏼🙏🏽

I went back and checked the original Glee replacement poll and there was plenty of teen content on there: Riverdale High School Musical: The Musical The Series Heartbreak High Scream Queens Heartstopper Never Have I Ever Julie and the Phantoms Degrassi A lot of it just didn't make that final poll. If you do really want things to match genre-wise (I think Glee encompasses multiple genres any way) then only things that fit in that genre should be included in the poll.

I did think that a good replacement for Glee would be either a musical show or a teen show, I hoped for a musical show like Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist, Crazy Ex-girlfriend or Galavant, because I don't see a lot of reactions for musical T.V. series. However, I didn't disagree with shows like Degrassi because that would fit the high school element. But other than Degrassi I'm not sure what other great high school shows there are. Maybe, High School Musical The Musical The Series, Julie and the Phantoms, or maybe 902010, although I feel like Degrassi is a better choice than the original and the new 90210 wasn't all that good. I did see a comment mention Greek, although that show is not set in high school, I do think it would also be a good replacement for Glee, vibe wise.

also i'm not trying to be difficult i promise lol it's just i know you have a varied audience. like you have people here for the content like supernatural and i feel like if supernatural ends, or when it ends, it needs to be replaced with a show targeted for that audience. like if you were doing walking dead, it wouldn't make sense for the replacement show to be....phil of the future let's say. it;d make sense for it to be breaking bad. so while it doesn't have to be same genre, i think it should flow with what that particular audience would want. your audience for victorious and suite life might not want to watch a darker, gritter show, and the darker grittier show fans might not want to stick around for something lighter and sillier. that's where my head is at when it comes to this opinion,

I don’t know about anyone else but I don’t really see Glee as a teen high school show as much as a musical comedy type of show so there aren’t a lot of other teen high shows that come to mind as a replacement. The only one that does is High School Musical The Musical The Series which I would be happy with personally.

Would love to see you react to icarly (2007). Its a teen sitcom show with lots of comedy and is fun to watch. It's 97 episodes and was on nickelodeon at same as Victorious. It even has a crossover with Victorious.

I would argue that there are a few teen/high school shows. Heartstopper is one. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina is certainly a teen drama and I would make an argument for Scream Queens, although set in college, still totally attracts a teen audience. Also Queen's Gambit is sort of coming-of-age. Also, I'm pretty sure Heartbreak High was recommended and didn't end up on your latest poll. Otherwise, you're pretty much covered a lot of the teen drama genre. Also, for the most part, Brian is better suited for a teen drama reaction so I frequently save more of those shows for him.

Most high school shows I enjoyed you or Brian have done. I was going to suggest 13 Reasons Why but I thought you may have watched it off channel like Friday Night Lights. This is Us has a high school plot line because it follows the kids through high school but I don’t think you got there in what you have watched

Did you read the comment section on your very last glee replacement post today? Many had said that they wanted you to do degrassi however the option to vote for that show wasn't on the poll.
