The show's overarching plot is about Dr. Brown successfully getting to know his son the way his wife always wanted. So it's a father/son story mainly. Also, coming of age with the teenagers which takes over the majority of the show's storylines. So it's part medical drama, part teenage soap opera, part social drama (the best thing it does), part family drama. That's the show in a nutshell.

Next episode is unfortunately still bad. the one after that is pretty good. and then the show finally finds it's way and then you will get the comparisons to the other shows you mentioned without spoiling too much.

2023-05-15 05:47:19 +0000 UTCThis WB show was aired back to back with 7th Heaven. So it's no wonder that it reminds you of 7th Heaven. This show is also very slow building. It takes its time. Which means that this will probably not be a show that you will enjoy. It's literally a family show about life in Small Town America. It's like a 90s version of Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
