I have loved Garcia since her first episode and she's continuously amazing!

2023-06-07 15:12:14 +0000 UTCThis show is very much the type to give bits and pieces on the characters, especially in the beginning. So if you want to learn more about them you need to pay attention. JJ (the blonde girl) was introduced in the second episode and I think you were either on your phone or not looking at that time. It was very brief, just like a lot of things this episode. Concerning the black guy who attacked the older woman, if you pay attention (not saying you didn't, I know you were looking at the screen, but you had to look at the right place) you can see that when he grabbed the woman his hands were showing. That's how the husband knew he was black, because he was stupid enough to not wear gloves to do his crime. Also you mentioned last episode that we didn't get to see much or learn much about the killers and honestly it depends on the episodes. Some you will see them from the beginning and follow them, some you will never see them. This show is not really like other procedural cop shows. It's about the process of capturing the criminals yes, but it's also about the "psychology" behind the case. Which gives us something like this episode where you don't get to see the unsub since he is irrelevant in the grand scheme of what this episode is trying to convey. Anyways I enjoyed your reaction and honestly you had some of the same thoughts I had when I first watched this, especially the cop being the perpetrator part.

2023-06-06 06:46:43 +0000 UTCJJ was introduced in the second episode. She’s the communication liaison and she essentially readies the cases for the BAU for them to be presented. All the information they get - pictures, crime Scene information, etc. comes from her. We’ll definitely get to know her more, but she is a pretty crucial part of the team. I actually think this was the best episode of the four. We got to see the team bonding thanks to Reid’s birthday and a little bit of how they interact with one another. I think Elle has been the most difficult to characterize since her entire character is based off her being the only woman in the field, which can only go so far. I did appreciate her moment with the woman though. Hotch is also quite difficult to characterize at this point. I used to be so confused about Hotch’s role on the team versus Gideon’s role. I don’t quite remember when that becomes clear, but they are both in supervisory roles, essentially, while Hotch is unit chief. It’s wild to think about how at this point it feels like we’ve gotten very little from him because I remember Hotch being one of my favorite characters (maybe not top three, but top ten for sure!) Garcia is the GOAT. I love the dialogue they give her. Of course it’s ~ quirky ~ but the actress just does it so well. Also, if I remember correctly, the next episode is one of my favorites too haha.
