You made some great points. I am not a fan of ultimatums, they are childish, selfish, and take agency out of a person making choices. So, I always love that Pacey doesn’t put that additional pressure on her, but it also wouldn’t be fair to expect him to wait around for her either. I’m excited for these next couple episodes πŸ’•πŸ‘

that scene after dawson forces Pacey out of the race and the 3 argue. And Joey tells Pacey she hates him for kissing her and making her think what that means, and for dawson making her choose friendship or what she might have had with Pacey, just gets to me, as you said it almost got to you. Such a well done scene.

It's always team Pacey. Gave her no ultimatums and understood her feelings and never invalidated them. I could go on and on as to why he is the better man

100% team pacey. He makes Joey better, Dawson tries to drag her down.

Team Pacey ftw. Dawson does have this weird ownership mentality when it comes to Joey (and yes, it comes from a long history πŸ™„), him dangling their friendship as a way to manipulate her into choosing him is so screwed up. Joey who's had Dawson on a pedestal for so long, Joey who takes solace in his family and sees the Leery household as practically her own, knows she'd lose not just Dawsons friendship, but she'd lose that safe space as well. And in her life where everything has always been so unstable, Dawson has always been her one constant, so him putting their friendship on the line and forcing her into that ultimatum really just broke my patience with Dawson.
