They didn't have sex, he meant it more figuratively then literally, as in they connected, not that they actually had sex. At the beginning of the episode when Keeley was running off, Rebecca said she was going to see someone who believes they deserve her, which would have let him know she was seeing someone. As for knowing the person was a girl, I don't know, people talk, maybe he heard something, Jack's been to games with Keeley, she's rich, she's known by people, he probably just put things together. Which is probably why he said I think she has a girlfriend and not I know.
