Fringe "The Equation" 1x8 Reaction

Wow so many thoughts after this episode! First, thank you so much for confirming you read our comments on the show. Please continue to do so, I am so glad to offer you questions to the answers you ask along the reaction. I promise that all comments will be SPOILER FREE, with only the information we got up until this point. Second, I was really worried that you seem to not really connect to the characters, and I was so happy to see that you start to connect with the characters, especially Walter, which is by far this show's MVP. I am now more than ever looking forward to your next reactions. Regarding the Observer, I wanted to just mention one more time, that the Observer is in every episode in one frame or another, just for a split second and if you blink you miss him. Third, yes, that was Agent Loeb from last episode. Everything connects in this show, nothing is an one off, not really. What we know so far, is that he found a certain location last episode (Little Hill) and this episode he got a device that allows solid matter to pass though other solid matter. For what we don't know yet. This episode's takeaway is supposed to be the connection to Agent Loeb and what happened last episode, Nothing else for now. Regarding the case and the boy, yes, he solved it in time to save himself and not go crazy. I believe the woman tortured the others for at least two weeks (the length they were missing) while Ben was only missing for a couple of days until he solved it and Olivia found him. Also, there is a theory that kids are more resilient to traumatic instances, than adults (not always, but sometimes) which could also have played a part.
