2023-07-23 02:14:52 +0000 UTCicarly is so much better than victorious imo. it holds up a lot too and was a lot more successful. i think the “weird” comments come in reference to the show within a show they do where everything is super random. some of the skits are weird (feet in typical dan schnieder fashion) but the show itself is really solid and funny and doesnt have that many weird moments, at least not as many as victorious. i think its the only live action kid show around this time that can hold up to wizards (aside from drake and josh)

Because the actual show is pretty solid and most storylines are pretty great, funny, and just memorable. Yes, there is some weird stuff (in good Dan Schneider fashion lol) but it isn't unbearable. I hope Steven continues to watch it after Victorious, I think he would like it.

2023-07-09 21:14:14 +0000 UTCiCarly is way better than Victorious, just as Drake and Josh was better than iCarly. The chemistry is really good with this show and it was very much ahead of its time. The characters do age, so by the last season they're all seniors in high school. They don't just stay 13, the storylines get a little more mature as well (not that much cuz its still a kids show)

It really paved the way for youtube and the internet. I like this better than victorious. Victorious is definitely weirder to me.

Having watched Steven react to a lot of shows, especially kids shows, I knew from the very beginning that icarly and its humor would fit with him. I thought he'd like icarly (and even Drake and Josh) a lot more than some of the other shows he's watched. I guess we'll see if he continues it

Yeah, the crazy random stuff only happens within their webshow since that's the point of it - wanting to show off weird random crazy stuff on their show - and also with Carly's brother (like the squirrel camera) but the show outside the webshow has a more cohesive story compared to Victorious. There are some routes they go down that I'm not a fan of but it's still a really good show.

There are many shows out there where bad stuff happened behind the scenes by not just this creator/network but on other shows too, eg One Tree Hill. People can like/appreciate the show while still understanding/not liking the other stuff. Janette McCurdy has said she dosn't mind if people still like/watch the show and this show is only one part of her personal journey.

I always thought that it holds up the best out of all the Nick sitcoms, but I was very young when all of these shows came out so, who knows!

But this was a time when everything was random. Like the random dancing, random crazy hat party. & other stuff in other shows

But the comments are making me think I got that wrong, but I do remember liking it and I thought they had a very good finale.
