also it would be strange if he doesn't get it why these gentelmen laugh about the prospect of courting Pen. He is either very naive which is a possibility or he is trying to keep his possible feelings for her a secret for some reason. I am sure this will be clarified in season 3

2023-06-25 11:21:14 +0000 UTCI was thinking that maybe in his mind she is such a good friend to him, almost a part of his family that the thought of romance is too out there to even contemplate. It's probably the situation of never knowing what you had until you lost it. Right now it doesn't seem like Pen is going anywhere and I think he neends to see her more confident and probably risk losing her as a part of his life. I don't think he talks about her body when he says it because last season he purposefully danced with her after some ladies snickered and laughed at her for that very reason

2023-06-25 11:13:16 +0000 UTCthis was an almost perfect finale for me as well. as much as i hate to see eloise and pen fighting, i loved the direction it took narratively and can understand both sides. pen feels backed into a corner and el doesn't understand the extent of that. meanwhile el feels betrayed and lied to. i'm sure she's questioning things like "was penelope ever my friend or was she just trying to get close to me to write gossip about our family name" even though we know the character of pen and her intent as an audience, this revelation must be so scary and painful for eloise. i didn't like the colin thing either. like either make a dick or not but the wishy washy back and forth is tiresome. i don't know what they were going for. either he sees her as just a little sister and that's why he was like "ew lmao" which in that case, making her his love intrest seems out of left field. or he's a flat out asshole who was like "ew lmao" because of her body which i'm just saying i have no problem with her body but in the perspective of an asshole guy if that's how they wanted to portay colin and in that case then also him being her romantic intrest feels out of left field. not to get too personal with it but i was very body-conscious in high school not to mention also autistic. i once had these two guys come up and ask me out as a dare between their friends and then laughed about it after. this storyline would be like fast forward a few years and bam now one of them and i are madly in love. it just...feels weird. icky. i don't that like that scene with colin at all. it kind of muddies the potential romance between them after hearing him say that about her, regardless of his intention. but other than that, i thought it was a really great season finale. everyone's stories were given their due and each character felt lovingly written. i really enjoyed it (apart from collin.)
