primo - as in first born As the CEO of a publicly traded company, if you get a take-over offer that is way over market value, you have to take it. Because you have to act in the interest of all the shareholders, who would benefit from the take-over. That's why the Asian guy had to sell.

But the actual people behind the TV charachters are probably the Murdoch family. Rupert Murdoch owned the 21st Century Fox movie studio until he sold it to Disney in 2019, though Murdoch still owns the Fox News Corporation. Both Logan and Rupert have had more than one marriage and children with more than one partner. Rupert, much like Logan, didn't set up a clear line of succession for his children, and reportedly did not have much faith in them to take the reins when he died or retired. Murdoch’s ex-wife Jerry Hall was even banned from giving the Succession writers ideas in her divorce settlement.

2023-07-04 23:57:28 +0000 UTCBc you said it was compared to wrestling, most people compare the Roy family to the Trump family actually - lots of toxic family dynamics, a very mean and cold father who won't retire, messed up kids. It's a great show, no aspirational characters to be found but amazingly written.
