2023-10-18 04:10:31 +0000 UTCI think you are maybe looking at the lyrics too literally. I don't think for a second it's talking about literally fighting. It's figurative. And I thought that back when I first watched the show. Of course I could be wrong, but I would be very surprised if that was the writing process. And if I am right I also don't think it's our place to make a judgement quite that extreme on them.

2023-09-04 05:10:10 +0000 UTCI also never thought about the relationship they have being toxic. I knew something was wrong with them in the episode when they break up and Trina jumps on beck. But I never thought about them being toxic. I just thought they needed time apart. I knew I never wanted to be or have anyone near me that was like jade but I do like her character in the show. I even thought all this when I was a kid so I think some kids would actually be fine. And some will learn what they don’t want from shows like these. Like I’d rather have what Andre and Tori have as friends than what beck and Jade had at their breakup and lead up to breakup times. Her jealousy would not be fun. They just needed to talk more about these things honestly.

Like jade’s problem was always how insecure she is and that she hated any girl that talked to beck. That’s why she hated Tori for so long. But she did change because she didn’t care about Tori and beck when they were in their friendship none date thing. Obviously in this episode with the Meredith thing she cared but told beck he could do whatever he wanted. And since she was insecure around the time when Meredith and beck did that play it makes sense why she reacted that why but still she didn’t try to kill Meredith or anything. While beck was always flirty friendly with girls. Now just because he’s flirty friendly doesn’t mean he wants to date them. But since Jade was insecure it made sense why she reacted the way she did in the past. Beck learnt he wants someone that will challenge him. Now there are people that do want a challenge and love those people and that’s just what Jade and beck do for each other. It can be healthy. They weren’t healthy before but they could be this time after learning more about themselves. I think beck grew less than Jade, only because we don’t know right now if he’s going to be flirty friendly still or if he’s going to try and calm that down for Jade. We’ll see. I like your opinion and I’m not bashing it I’m just saying what I’ve seen and noticed about the episodes. But I also get how you could see it the way you do as well.

2023-08-31 01:39:55 +0000 UTCAs a kid, I was cheering as much as the crowd was during their kiss. As a grown up, WHOOOOOO. It's crazy how much your view changes as you get older. I never once thought of Jade and Beck's relationship as toxic when I was a kid and that's DANGEROUS. I was lucky in the sense that I am aroace and never wanted a relationship to begin with, but for other kids? This is what they learn. Kids shows have so much responsibility, especially with their scripts, because it might be just a show but it's unfortunately where kids learn what's right/wrong and what is/isn't acceptable. I used to love Jade's song without a care as to what the lyrics meant (and yeah, they're terrible. Domestic violence is the name of the undertone game). They had all the gimmicks ready - incredibly catchy tune, astounding vocals, crowds cheering on a couple reuniting - so that the audience would be just as amped up and ignore the fact that the song sends a disturbing message and that Jade and Beck should not be getting back together while being the exact same as before. And poor Meredith. She might be "one of those girls" but she didn't deserve seeing the guy she's on a date with kiss his ex on stage to the cheers of the whole school... I am VERY glad that they didn't make Andre and Jade date. I just think she'd bring him down rather than him changing her for the better. I think the time apart should have been spent making Jade and Beck better people. Jade should have worked on her anger issues and the meanness. And Beck should have worked on himself too because he wasn't a good boyfriend. And then they should have gotten back together in a more organic way, sans pro domestic violence song, as two better people.

2023-08-30 01:56:05 +0000 UTCI personally love jade and beck. I think they needed time apart and you can see they still liked each other in previous episodes. I think Jade not getting mad when she saw tori and beck together in the 'not date' was kind of a growth moment considering a lot of their issues stemmed from jade's insecurities and beck's carelessness. Now they both grew past that and matured.

When I watched this show when I was younger I wanted them to get back together and I loved them together. I think for me they actually needed the amount of time apart they had so they could both explore other things and see what they really wanted but they wanted each other so love that
