So the reason they reveal all those things like the twins, who ends up dating, and stuff is because they're meant to be things to get you thinking about who did the terrorist attack in the future timeline. You should think about the future story as less about the spectacle of the terrorist attack and more as connected to the dynamics and things you learn about the characters in the time they're at Quantico.
