Characters cross over in the Law and Order shows like they do between the Chicago series. The prosecutor that made a deal at the end was a main character from the original. I hope you continue with this. Many well known actors show up on the Law and Order series because they could do some very dramatic acting in only a few days work. The tone of the pilot is how the show is pretty consistently.

2023-09-18 12:50:14 +0000 UTCI'm glad you liked this episode. I never watched the other L&O shows, including the OG, but I never had trouble keeping up with SVU. My ultimate character who literally made this show great for me is Olivia Benson (Taylor Swift would agree. IYKYK). If you DO end up picking up this show, I'd suggest pairing it with a lighter show like Gilmore Girls to react to right after because this show IS very realistic and very gritty. The good guys don't always win. And the victim's description of her 23-day-long r*pe? That's TAME compared to the things that are coming. You'd need a bit of a lighter show for a breather after that or it can get a bit much.
