2023-10-17 03:40:36 +0000 UTCTo describe what they are trying to do in today's world: You can build of course your own gaming console, but you can't build a gaming console that plays Xbox games by copying Microsoft's software. Back in the day computers had proprietary software, that would only run on that specific computer, in this case IBM. What they are trying to do is build their own PC that can run IBM compatible software. Or like building your own game-console that can run Xbox games without stealing Microsoft's technology and of course sell that Xbox compatible console at half the price. This was possible, because the IBM PC was essentially all standard components except for the BIOS. Or as if the Xbox were essentially a Gaming PC with 1500$ worth of standard parts only with a special operating system and MS would sell that "console" for 10000$. Because that's what IBM did.

2023-10-02 01:13:37 +0000 UTCIt is a great show. For me, it's about the nostalgia of it. They really do lean into the computer stuff so it's not for everybody, but the character growth is worth it. I have a few other pilots I want you to watch but I might come back to this one in the future. :-)
