this is a top tier show for a me omg. I know every episode, every joke, every beat -- love this show. I do always feel weird in season 1 though, cause the actress for Claire changes in season 2.

We just need a One on One request now 😩

sorry for the long comment but i also really love the daughter so much. i liked her line about her not understanding why she's this way either. it's very real and honest. i'd much rather have the teen girl character be like "ew gross" and slam doors and feel awkward. it's a very realistic look at growing up and those sorts of changes that overwhelm you.

i think this show did a good job at portraying *real* like there are a lot of men out there who feel self-conscious about their wives working or earning more money than them. it's how they were raised and what was shoved onto them. i had an ex whose sister was raising her sons as young as three with the mindset of "they need to be men and providers one day." it's very toxic for everyone. the men and the women both. i think this show does a very good job at showing a very real mindset a husband may have, and how the couple begins to work through that. i also like that not everything is solved and glossy at the end of the episode. there's continuous work and effort but they're trying. i think having a character like this, provided we see him grow and make efforts, is a good thing for those who may be locked into similar mindsets to see on screen. they may go into it thinking "oh he's like me, awesome!" but then realize "oh this character is in the wrong...maybe i'm in the wrong" and self-reflect a bit. overall i just like how real this show seemed to be and that's what's stuck with me the most about it all these years later.

he was very misogynistic here but I think he is not as bad as it goes on. he owns a trucking company

I watched the hell out of this when it was on. It’s one of those sitcoms that people forget about, but it was highly entertaining.
