Mabon Autumn Equinox Tea Recipe

Good afternoon moon babes! Y'all voted for a tea recipe so this is for you! In this easy tea recipe, I share how to make a Mabon tea. Mabon is a pagan holiday. It's one of the eight Wiccan sabbats celebrated during the year. The autumn equinox is a time for celebrating harvest, the end of summer, and all things that are bountiful. The autumnal equinox marks the time when days become shorter, and nights become longer, so this is the perfect tea recipe to kick off Mabon and autumn!

What You'll Need

- 24 oz Apple cider

- 1 cup of filtered water (best if you use sun charged filtered water)

- 1 tsp Nutmeg

- 1 tbs Whole Clove 

- 4 full Star Anise stars, or a 1 tbs of star anise pods

- 2 Fresh Apples, sliced or diced, (green or red or mixed)

- 4-6 sticks of Cinnamon

- 3 tbs Brown Sugar

This batch Serves 4. You can make a batch and then put it in the fridge for later. 

What to Do

- You can boil water and steep this tea for several minutes. You can also steep longer to use as a simmer pot and then drink the tea after. A must try for any herbal tea lover!

- Steep for 4 or 7 minutes and sip!

Other ways to use this:

- If you want to make a bath, take a cup of water and put it in your tub with your bath water.

- Use as a floor wash. 

- Use as a door wash.

- Make this tea as an offering for ancestors or spirits that you are working with. Drink it with them as a devotional act.

- Once done, drink the liquid. Strain the herbs and apples out and return back to earth. That can be your compost, the base of a tree, or whatever makes sense intuitively. Please be mindful of your ecosystem. Only put biodegradable items outside.

- As always you can use whatever ingredients you have on hand or what makes sense for you.
