I totally get what you're trying to say. This episode WAS very emotional, but I do think a separate Athena Begins episode before this one where we see where Athena came from, why becoming a cop was even an option for her, etc., a bit of Emmett (meeting him and him introducing her to the LAPD), the rest of her journey to being where she is today would have been great. Then we can have a separate episode like this one where we get the answer to "where is Emmett now?" and we see the he was murdered/Athena arresting the killer story. It was a good episode but it was a bit more Emmett-centric than an an Athena Begins episode should have been.
