Project WIP update - Hjalta

So, during this holiday break, I had some spare time to work on Hjalta, and the result is a very satisfying face (and head). :3 Or so I think!

For now...

Worked on her nose, too.

Anyway!

Here is the previous version

Here is the new version

Also a front view, because I think this is where the childlike look was the strongest:

I also fixed her back, after a friend pointed out that the spine is too pronounced, and I did some other minor fixes.

Do let me know if the face is any better, where better means less childlike but still cute. Holy crap that mix is really hard to pull off. ;A; BUT I AM GETTING THERE I THINK

MAYBE

Am I?

...Hello?

Where are you?

I know you're there. I can feel you here.

What are you doing?

You haven't escaped, you know.

You're not even going the right way.

Hello?

Is anyone there?

Oh, you forgot about one thing! A while ago, I said I wanted her to have less of a realistic cowface, and more of a cute, semi-stylized look. I'm pretty satisfied with what I have now, so, as I said in the reply below, if I can't find a way that would make her seem more adult without changing the cute proportions, I'll go with this. ^.^ It'll still probably change a little in the entire process, but I feel it's good now. And yeah, the little bumpy details on the nose will come later; I always add those in via procedurals. So no worries there! On a side note, I do use references and comparisons when I need them. X3

I like the changes. However a couple seem to be making her more child like. Children are smooth and have less angular features. Your style is perfectly fine with the smooth styles and thats one of the features I was so interested in when I found you. Adult females have a lot of curves and pronounced features. Even the less curvular women have more curves than adolescent children. However were talking about an anthro character so making up what is what can come off as complicated. I think you should try to break away a little from your comfortable setting if you want to make an Adult character. Edit: Image of an Adult Cow: Face When you smoothed out the nostrils I think that was one part that would have made her look less child like. The image of the cow has a few wrinkles on the forehead and around the corners of the mouth. Also if you look at the cows nose there is a texture similar to how Jinjing-Yu's nose is. Bumps and cracks. Not sure what you'd call that. It gives an aged look. I can say more but I've been shunned for saying too much. So if I am given permission I can point at a couple more comparisons between young cows and adult cows to aid in the process.

+1 I can only agree to that. She looks beautiful as she looks now. Don't try to fix things that are not broken :)

The Nubus

Good improvements all around! The slimming of her head does cut down, but not remove the childlike appearance. Still, it seems to fit your style well to have your creations appear cherubic. I'll also call out the changes to her neck work well to give it a more swan-like, slim appearance. If you had some (insane) desire to make her appear even more adult, you'd likely need to shrink not only the size of her eyes, but her doeful and large irises. Possibly then elongate her muzzle a smidge, widen her hips, all that blatant kind of post-puberty stuff. But I think she's rather appealing as-is, personally.
