Yeah, the ashy feel is just a side effect of the lighting postwork, but I can't complain since it really is a nice thing. I honestly wouldn't even be sure how to make it intentionally without simply putting it in the textures (because that wouldn't react to light correctly). And thank you! And also I used almost no references. XD Gelbooru wasn't particularly helpful, so I just winged most of the anatomy based on my general knowledge. Very happy with the outcome!

Those colors are Tchai's signature decor. One little detail I see that I feel you did spectacularly well was the lighting of the skin, or perhaps texturing of the skin. Skin with dark pigmentation (actually all skin does this but on dark tints of skin it appears more obvious) sometimes get this lighter color when the top layer dehydrates. A friend of mine called it "ashy". Because the dead skin would flake and change the color of the top layer. Known locations of this happens on elbows. It appears that you used a lighting technique to portray that on the thighs and the shoulders, which I find very compelling for an introductory piece. Gives her a flawed perfection. And if you comment saying, no, its just lighting / not intentional, it's ok. It has done wonders and I like it. Also she has the best freckles in the world. Yay for freckles! Referring to a few posts ago: Plump loli are the tags I've used to search for pudgy cuteness on Gelbooru. Perhaps that's what you used for your references?

And also, so as not to get distracted too much, Poepoe is pretty adorable too (and really well done). The fur on it looks just like real stuffed animal fur. I want to squeeze this pup until I pass out from happy.
