This is a Sketch Exclusive, a Patreon-exclusive summary of stuff from the month, interesting things I just can’t help but share, and other ramblings!

February is a short month so it naturally flew past leaving us all in the dust! My day job was so heck that I had to pass up on so many commissions that I want to scream and quit, making a big scene.

No matter though, as March has some great game releases and I'll be continuing on my Moments in History series! Here's what's new otherwise...

Patreon Exclusive Goals

This month I created my first Patreon-exclusive art piece! It was very fun and kind of interesting to me in concept since it is almost like a secret to the rest of the world. I'm trying to balance on how I can do this more often as well as keep on top of my other stuff from a time management perspective. My good friend Tomtom suggested that I do a stretch goal on Patreon so that's exactly what I'm going to do!

On each month where I have 70 or more Patreons, I'll put out a poll to decide on an exclusive art piece! (My patron numbers fluctuate each month so I wanted to pick something that wasn't too unreasonable and also encourages growth).

Shortcut Remote and Increased Speed Stats

I recently realized that modern day screen tablets have this amazing feature - touch controls! Now, my Huion tablet is from 2018 and doesn't have touch features but my iPad does. I love my iPad but sometimes I need the bigger screen for my deteriorating eyes. I don't want to get a new one simply for the touch features since I currently live in too cramped a space to get a new one, plus my old one is fully functioning for the most part.

Enter the shortcut remote!

It's like a Wii-nunchuck but much lighter and a little flimsy, but it allows me to zoom in and switch tools really quickly! Rotation is also pretty good and undo is just a trigger away. Nobody was selling it in Canada so I got it from the far superior American Amazon. Shipping prices seemed a little inflated, but it was totally worth it in the end! I am at least 3% faster!

Unfortunately though, it only works with Clip Studio. As I got more involved with drawing and needed more features and shortcuts to work more efficiently, I migrated to Clip Studio Paint from my first love Paint Tool Sai. 80% of my time configuring this software and switching the UI around is to try to make it look and perform more like Sai. I'm trying to trick myself into being able to have the best of both.

On the left: Clip Studio Paint, and Sai 2 is on the right.

If anybody could be fooled by that, I'm hoping it's me :)

Anyways, that's pretty much it for this month! Looking forward to the next one!
