Cooking tonight
Added 2024-11-30 23:47:49 +0000 UTCAs some of you know I love cooking. I have some basic cutting knives but Iโve always wanted a really nice chefโs knife. For my birthday I asked Alex if heโd get me a cooking knife. He complained when I told him the price. Well he took the time today on his day off to go get me a knife. Alex despises surprises or shopping. Itโs not my birthday until Dec 11th but I guess there were lots of discounts today and he didnโt wanna wrap it so he just gave it to me. So Iโll happily cook dinner now ๐ฉโ๐ณ
Do any of you all like to cook?

2024-12-01 21:17:31 +0000 UTCIโm an InstaPot nut. I end up with 7 servings, can throw 6 in the freezer. There are normally 3 or 4 different things in there from 13 bean soup to chicken thighs and rice to chili verde. I also eat a lot of stir fry.

2024-12-01 15:46:43 +0000 UTCI make a simple pasta dish with pasta shells, broccoli, mushrooms, polish sausage, and Alfredo sauce. I also make a couple of Mexican dishes that are also pretty easy to make.

2024-12-01 15:08:35 +0000 UTConce I put something in the fridge or freezer, it tends to go bad before I get back to it....I've thrown out more bread, milk, eggs and meat than I ever used when I was cooking for four...that's why I try to not have leftovers...some of it's mental I know but VA is working on me...soon as I get this motorcycle paid off though I'm gonna look at one of those ready made delivery services...

2024-12-01 12:25:08 +0000 UTCIt definitely is lonely to cook for one, but you could always meal prep for the week and then have containers to just put in the microwave. That's what I used to do before I met Alex.

2024-12-01 12:24:38 +0000 UTCThanks so much. Yeah I'll probably get a few more eventually. The guy at the store definitely sold me on them. Happy anniversary! How many years?

2024-12-01 12:23:38 +0000 UTCThat's awesome! What kind of BBQ is your favorite? I'm a huge fan of Japanese style BBQ recently.

2024-12-01 12:22:55 +0000 UTCThat's not a bad thing. And yes definitely! The knives I had were very dull. I think they need the blades replaced

2024-12-01 12:22:16 +0000 UTCI definitely agree. Before I met Alex I used to just cook for myself and my dog a lot. I could experiment with new recipes that way. What's your favorite thing to cook?
Memoirs of Steph
2024-12-01 12:21:46 +0000 UTCI enjoy cooking and with it being just me and the dog, I kind of have to as I really dislike eating in restaurants. I did that for 20 years while driving truck. Pretty easy to get burned out on restaurant meals.

2024-12-01 00:07:14 +0000 UTCmy original goal in life was to be a "confirmed bachelor" so I took all the cooking and home ec classes in High School...I used to like to but find it a major pain cooking for one so I eat a lot of microwave stuff...although I did make Chili for Thanksgiving...

2024-12-01 00:04:14 +0000 UTCI cook the majority of meals in my family. It's my decompress time. Started that while I was in the Army. That way, I was ready to interact with the family by the time dinner was ready.

2024-12-01 00:02:43 +0000 UTCI guess not everyone is romantic, but I'd suggest he doesn't sit too close to your chopping block!
