Largest Collection of Adult Pro Motion Capture? Probably. (Part 1: Intro)

The lovely team at UtherVerse reached out and asked if we knew how to do adult motion capture.  We're confident in our skills so we said "yes".  It wasn't long before we had a major motion capture session on our hands.  When I say "major" I mean they flew out professional performers and a top class director to get every angle, action, and combination of things we could cram into three very full days of motion capture.

The entire body tells a story 

It's not just about stroking a thing or rubbing another thing.  It's about how the entire body reacts, how the body positions itself for the best sensation, and how things align during penetration.  We knew that there had to be a few changes to our motion capture equipment to ensure we captured every little detail.

Creating an opening

Our first task was the motion capture suits.  They come in at over $300 a piece and we needed three of them modified to ensure functional openings that would allow access to the fun bits without losing the integrity of the suit.

We decided to go with snaps.  The gloves were also modified to be smoother and easy to clean since they would be dealing with sensitive parts and lube (sooooooo much lube).  

Side note, did you know that retroreflective markers are less effective when covered in lube?  Neither did we.

Hard work ahead

It wasn't long before the first day of motion capture was here.  

• Day 1 started with a single person performing solo acts on herself.  
• Day 2 was full on male / female interactions and solo male antics.  
• Day 3 captured all things girl on girl.

It was an intense session full of giggles, toys, lube, and motion capture magic.

Cleanup

The next step is to go through every frame of motion capture (120 frames for every second) and clean it up for production.  This is a long process, especially since we only have one pro level animator inhouse.  I feel for that person. (side note, I'm that person 🤣 )
