Honestly the visual effects were pretty damn ugly, mostly just the overly CGI stuff; but I absolutely loved the way Blade fought. There is a possibility we'd do the sequel and I'll also say here that we are definitely interested in What We Do in the Shadows, I like Taika having seen Hunt for the Wilderpeople and him basically saving Thor as character in the MCU lol. I'll add it to the list!

2021-08-18 18:13:34 +0000 UTCWell, just rewatched. The effects don't really hold up but Blade's fighting style is so effing cool and really suits a half vampire superhero. The cast is also really cool. Blade's mother was Sanaa Lathan who went on to star in Alien Vs Predator, Deacon Frost's hypeman was an early performance by Donal Logue who later starred in Vikings and Gotham, his blonde, white clad henchwoman was played by former underage porn star Traci Lords, who built a TV career in the '90s. Just so you know, Blade 2 is one of my favourite dumb action movies, you will love it! (Blade Trinity, despite a great cast was absolute crap and killed the franchise.)

Seriously, "What We Do In The Shadows" is my very first official recommendation for you guys to watch. You have proven yourself gentlemen of intelligence and taste. Anyway, on to Blade. I've got it cued up on Amazon Prime about to watch along. What you have to remember is that back in the day movies about comic book characters were expected to (and usually did) suck hard. This was 20+ years ago, before poeple went apecrap declaring that "Deadpool" made R rated comic book movies possible, before Wesley Snipes went insane and declared that as a Sovereign Citizen he did not owe any taxes to the government and before popular wisdom gave Marvel oral sex. I'll probably comment after.
