Out of all the 80's horror icons Chucky is one of the weirdest. At the time before Chucky we have seen killer dolls before but usually those dolls will get in the mind of the victims. We have never had a doll that has been possessed by a killer and kill as a doll. Chucky was all practical all animatronics advanced enough to bring Chucky to life. If Chucky didn't work if the audience did not buy that this doll could kill this movie would have never worked but it did and we have sequels and a series set to have second season this is Childs Play the start of Chucky's legacy.

2022-10-03 10:22:07 +0000 UTCThis movie use to scare me so much, I was terrified of Chucky, lol but now I absolutely love him and these movies. Yes some aren't as great as the others but Chucky is always great as is Brad Dourif, he just gets better and better. Honestly I can't listen to him without thinking of Chucky. It was very gutsy to not have him talk for most of the movie and it was so creepy when he would whisper in Andy's hear, you have no idea what he's telling him and the fact that he told him his dad sent him to him was so disturbing. And the poor kid has no idea what he's doing but I like the first thing he does when he notices his shoes is tells a cop. The effects on the doll still hold up and they just get better and better as the movies go on, most of the time it's a puppet but then other times it's someone in a costume, nothing is CGI. I also like the cleaver ways they film like the low shots from his point of view. I totally get why they eventually made these more comedic, not only is Chucky always funny but the idea is so silly and come on it's pretty funny when they constantly just throw him across the room all the time. But these movies are suppose to be fun and that's what they all do for me, even the not so great ones. They designed the doll after a real doll called My Buddy, they practically wear the same clothes and have the same hair and yes the My Buddy is just as creepy. Oh and this has nothing to do with the actually movie but Mike Norris also voiced Jack Skellington, I thought you would like to know since you guys are Nightmare Before Christmas fans like myself.
