While there are obvious plot holes, such as a Bible completely in Braille would be several volumes big - not just one book, it' still an interesting ride. And it's fun re-watching it to see all the clues of Eli's "condition" that I missed. Something I never hear of though is the "B" plot. A lot of people decry the lack of a Hero's Journey for so many female characters in movies. They just "know" how to do things. With "The Book of Eli" we see the genesis of Solara's journey to become a protagonist as a hero. Unfortunately, there was no follow up movie to further follow her. I'm not a huge fan of sequels, with notable exceptions (i.e. "Aliens", "Terminator 2", etc.), but I would have liked to have seen a continuation of Solara's journey. This is one of my favorite "post apocalyptic" movies.
