2020-03-18 14:12:39 +0000 UTCwell yes but then again Overlord is quite confusing since yes he was in a game but when the timer hit zero he was transported to a different world then the game that used the same magic as the game and all the npc became human while all the game mechanics like the hud or commands disappeared but at the same time we don't know what happent to his human body so it's a weird situation.

It just means that the mc goes to a different world then his own so a anime like Devil is a part-timer is still considered a isekai even thow the devil from his world gets trasported to modern Japan since it's a different world then his own. Sao despite not being the first isekai got really popular and that's where the confusion comes from with isekai and game worlds.
