No, this isn't beef with Frieren. She literally just said that because Frieren is too powerful, too many ppl passed who shouldn't even have passed. Third tests are typically so harsh that most of them would have died. Cold logic. That's all it is. Frieren carried too hard, and getting carried by someone extra powerful does not qualify you as a first class mage.

I'd probably not give two fucks either and tell shit like it is. "Aw, am I savage? Did I hurt your feelings? I'm a thousand years beyond caring." "What was that? I couldn't hear you over the sound of my overflowing mana." That's how I would be lmao. She just sees things mad different from everyone else. Imagine having THAT much life experience, and having seen the world and its ups and downs for THAT long. Us lowly humans can't even comprehend that shit. And then there's the fact that Serie is just a big tsundere.

2024-03-16 23:11:25 +0000 UTCYeah while there is the notion of good and bad matchups we have a general idea of the levels in this story and I think its fair to say there are about 6 people stronger than Frieren still and it can still be considered arguable whether or not she has surpassed Flamme (I think she has). Also I hope they adapt up to the most recent arc in the manga (thats enough content for season 2) because the next two major arcs are the best in the story so far and also you'll get a better insight into the party's strength - they were all OP af, for example without flight magic which frieren only learned relatively recently, peak himmel solos Frieren imo.

Other than the Goddess who is above all and maybe the Demon King or another guy you haven't fully been introduced to yet (only mentioned), Serie is by far the strongest mage. If they adapt a season 2 then you'll soon find out that Frieren was being honest when she said she is still very beatable.
