It was announced july 2021 and we got a teaser december 2021 and since then we hadn't received a single update until just like a month or so ago, and here we are today, episode 1. I was honestly convinced it didn't exist and mappa ghosted it because they realised they couldn't handle everything. but nope, animation honestly looks better than chainsaw man. The adaption seems pretty good so far. I didn't get very far in the manga so I might pick it back up now that I have time for it, or maybe I'll just chill with the anime. The next episode or so is gonna be wild tho + that ED sounds so good and that familiar voice you heard may be Sadasada from Gintama, both characters played the same role basically lol

Jigokuraku and Oshi no Ko are two of my all-time favorite manga and they're both getting what look like VERY high-quality adaptations. Then you've got Vinland continuing plus Demon Slayer, Konosuba, Ranking of Kings, Golden Kamuy, Witch from Mercury, and Ancient Magus Bride all beginning new seasons. I honestly feel like this is going to be one of the strongest anime seasons ever, with so many genres getting top-tier shows. As for Jigokuraku, this first episode was fantastic. CRAZY spoilers in the OP though, that caught me off guard but at least it's very out of context so anime-only watchers should be fine. You should definitely expect MAPPA to flex a bit in this show, as some of the fight scenes get absolutely insane in this series.
