Question?

After I'm done with everybody's commissions I want to figure out new tiers or the limit of people I should do.

How much would you pay for a full colour commission?

How about 4 to 5 pages?

What extra things would you want to see in the tiers?

Comments

1. Me personally I'm willing to pay around $100 for a commission but judging by what I'm seeing in the comments $60-80 would be a good spot for most commissions but if it gets more detailed like with more characters and a higher quality background etc then I think it should go up to $80 and maybe past it and more close to $100 depending on what said person wants. As for the limit of people you should do per month it kinda depends on how fast do you think you can finish a piece and how much you time you really want to spend drawing. I think a balance would be best like lets say you spend a few days or more on a commission take a day or 2 off and then continue on to the next so you don't overwork yourself and have a bit of time for yourself along with any personal projects or pieces you want to do. Lastly for the 4-5 pages thing I agree with JD $80-100 is a good amount and maybe a bit more depending on what the person wants.

That makes sense I might just do that. thank you ๐Ÿ˜

1. For a full color commission I think you should be charging $50 or so. 2. By 4-5 pages, do you mean like a short comic or a sequence of pictures using the same character kind of like your Momo one? Iโ€™d say $80-$100 for that (but more towards the higher side since 4-5 pages is a lot of work) 3. I think polls would be good. You could have polls for who they want to see drawn that month and let patrons of lower tiers vote once and higher tiers vote 2-3 times. Discord is another classic option for certain tiers Alternatively, like Cloaked said, you could offer paid commissions outside of patreon instead of as tiers. What Iโ€™ve seen other artists do (like Afrobull) is offer discounts on commission prices depending on your tier. So in his $10 tier he gives a 10% discount on commissions, in his $20 tier he gives a 20% discount.

Also add, if people want their commissions drawn. You can offer maybe paid commissions outside the usually patreon and tiers offer a discount? It would be stressful to dedicate art to just piling up commissions

I'd say keep drawing what you like. Probably high tier patrons can enter polls/draws and get the possibility to have their commission drawn each month.
