Gorefield video
Added 2020-06-07 16:00:00 +0000 UTCHey guys! as some of you noticed, we have just reached 666 Patrons, which means I will be doing a video on Gorefield!
Now, I always sort of intended this to be a Halloweeny sort of thing, and I think I am still going to aim for that sort of deadline. Maybe first week of October? It sounds far away, but it's only a couple months. In that time I'm going to be trying to do a lot of heavy research!
I would love tips on what books to read on Horror themes or topics. I want this to be more than just a list of Garfield internet horror projects. I want to get to the bones of the fat and and the genre he's found himself attached to. I would love notes!!!
Anyways, let's keep marching forwards to 1,000 Patrons!!! In the meanwhile, what other videos would you guys like to see? I might be interested in adding a few more stretch goals.

If you're going down the Rabbithole of internet horror I recommend studying Trevor Henderson's art and stuff. He does all these cool cryptids, he's also the artist behind Sirenhead

2020-06-10 03:56:09 +0000 UTCyou might talk about junji ito. I feel like a lot of gorefield is influenced by his work

2020-06-07 16:53:59 +0000 UTCI assume everyone knows about Lasagna cat (https://www.youtube.com/user/lasagnacat) but here are a couple good overviews by Night Mind (https://youtu.be/8DZfYAGdzPI) and Inside a Mind (https://youtu.be/5XUwkfxN34k)

2020-06-07 16:52:14 +0000 UTCPaperbacks From Hell is a fun look at the 70s/80s horror boom. Lovecraft's "Supernatural Horror in Literature" is worth a skim.

2020-06-07 16:14:46 +0000 UTCMaybe it's worth bringing up Halloween 1989/Garfield Alone as an early precedent for Garfield being reinterpreted as horror content? Plus the general tendency for the internet to take nostalgic properties and remake them for horror (lost episode creepypastas etc)
2020-06-07 16:14:10 +0000 UTCAs someone who signed up to help get you to those stretch goals, this is exciting news!
